Your setup: a guide for your team

Lumière PayCheck set up your agents for you. This page is for whoever helps run them: a teammate, your IT person, or a friend who knows their way around. It explains what was set up, what each setting means, and how to change it yourself. Everything here is done on your account page.

What we set up

  • One agent per AI agent you told us about. Each has its own key, the sellers it may pay, and its limits. You'll find them on the Agents tab.
  • Limits: the most it can pay at once, a daily budget and a monthly budget.
  • Approval rules: payments over a set amount, and an agent's first payment to a new seller, wait for a person to approve them (Business plan and above).
  • Company rules: sellers and wallets that are always blocked, on the Policies tab.
  • Where approvals go: to the account email, a person we invited as an approver, or the Slack, Discord or webhook link you gave us.

We never see or hold your agent keys, your owner key or your wallets. Every change we made is listed in the Activity tab as "Lumière PayCheck".

Connect each agent (the one thing you have to do)

  1. Open the account page and sign in with your owner key (or your company login).
  2. Agents tab → open an agent → New key. Copy the key; it's shown once.
  3. Give that key to the agent and have it ask before each payment. The simplest way: add our MCP server and this rule to the agent's instructions. Code options are in the integration guide.
Before paying any x402 endpoint, call the Lumière PayCheck check_payment tool with the endpoint URL, the amount, and the payTo wallet from its 402 quote. Only pay if allow is true. If it returns allow false, tell me the reasons instead of paying.

An agent that never asks isn't protected, so do this for each one.

Watch-only week

For the first 7 days after setup, your agents run in watch-only mode:

  • Every payment is checked and recorded, as usual.
  • If an agent's own limits or approval rules would have stopped a payment, it's allowed anyway and the record says what the rule would have done. Nothing your agents need gets stuck while you see whether the limits fit.
  • Safety checks still block during the week: sanctioned wallets, a seller whose payout wallet doesn't match, a price far above what the seller charges, your company blocklist and company-wide spending caps, and a frozen or revoked agent.

When the week ends, the rules switch on by themselves and you get an email with what each agent paid and what its rules would have flagged. The agent's page shows "Watch-only until …" while the week is running.

What the settings mean

  • Most it can pay at once: a single payment above this is refused.
  • Daily / monthly budget: the total the agent may spend per day (UTC) or calendar month. A payment that would go over is refused.
  • Allowed sellers: if set, the agent may only pay these websites. Empty means any seller that passes our checks.
  • Ask a person over $X: payments above this wait for an approver. Unanswered requests expire after 24 hours.
  • New sellers need approval: the agent's first payment to a wallet it has never paid waits for an approver.
  • Blocklist: sellers or wallets no agent in your company may pay.

Monthly review (if you chose it)

Starting 30 days after setup, you get a report each month: what every agent paid, what was blocked and why, and suggested changes (a budget that's nearly used, a limit that's hit often, a seller an agent keeps trying to pay, an agent nobody uses). Make the changes yourself on the account page. To stop the reviews, use the link at the bottom of any report.

If something goes wrong

  • An agent is refused something it should be allowed: open the agent → Payments, read the reason, and adjust the matching setting above.
  • A payment you didn't expect: freeze the agent first, then look at its Payments tab.
  • Lost your owner key: if you paid by card, use lumierepaycheck.org/recover.
  • Anything else: the administrator guide covers every screen, or email hello@lumierepaycheck.org.
